
VADODARA, Aug 4: Several women8217;s organisation representatives have condemned the M S University syndicate for having rejected the recommendations of the committee on sexual harassment in the campus.
The members including Neela Dave, Trupti Shah, Bina Srinivasan, Ghulam Sheikh and Nilima Sheikh have said that the committee which had been set up by the former vice-chancellor Padma Ramchandran had framed the recommendations as per the Supreme Court guidelines. They alleged that despite the shortfalls in the report submitted by the committee chaired by Jayashree Mehta the syndicate accepted it.
8220;The syndicate has decided to overlook the report of the earlier committee and have termed these recommendations as biased, this itself shows the discrimination that the syndicate wants to show,8221; alleged the members.
The women organisations have also said that though the syndicate alleges that the recommendations were biased but they were made keeping in mind the apex court guidelines. 8220;The syndicate is accusing the Supreme Court of being biased in favour of women by terming these recommendations as biased,8221; alleged the members.
