Dear Mr Narendra Modi,

I am writing this letter to you because I believe that somewhere in this madness, a small grain of sense, honour and truth still exists.

At one stage I had written you off as yet another political thug, but subsequently I grudgingly realized that you had administrative qualities and acumen which I would not have normally given you credit for. Just the fact that this is rapidly becoming a David and Goliath situation will put public opinion always in David’s favor regardless of the rights and wrongs of the situation.

A whole state’s machinery and a national political party ranged against the democratic views of a single individual is untenable for you! And regardless of the fact that the loudest protests are coming from insignificant political workers, anyone can see that it is state sponsored and has your blessings if not choreography.

Mr Modi, today you stand on the crossroads of your own destiny, you can either behave like a statesman and be recognized for it or be forever reduced to just a political bully and become a footnote in history. The choice is yours, please take it directly, and do not abdicate your authority and talent through the mouths of insignificant and ignorant political louts.

Your Greatest Critic & Reluctant Admirer,

Prahlad Kakar
