MAY 31: Vikram Boke, deputy commissioner of police DCP with to Zone IX, tendered his resignation on Tuesday. A distant relative of Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar, Boke said he is quitting because of political interference and for health reasons. His resignation is yet to be accepted.

Boke is the third DCP to resign in the last two years. Sanjay Pande had tendered his resignation three months ago. Pande8217;s papers have been forwarded to the President of India by the director general of police Maharashtra for approval.

Earlier, Ashok Dhamija had quit after he was transfered from Zone I. He is currently practicing law in the Bombay High Court.
