PATIALA, May 6: The district Congress Committee, Rural, today reimposed faith in the leadership of the party president Sonia Gandhi, and reiterated that the party would be able to defeat the fundamentalist forces led by Bhartiya Janata Party BJP during the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Hardyal Singh Kamboj, president of the committee, told ENS that the committee had also appealed to the party workers to work for the party at the grassroots, to gain support among the people.

The committee also appealed to the party workers to help enroll new voters during the revision of electoral rolls.

Hardyal Singh Kamboj said that a programme had been chalked out to streamline the party working at grassroot level. The Congress office bearers at block level will start contacting party loyalists from May 20. From May 25 to June 2, meetings will be organised at zonal level. Then these units will send the booth-wise lists to the Block Congress Committees, which will start its meetings from June 10 to 20.
