
The suspended police sub-inspector, Daya Nayak, was arrested and taken to the Anti-Corruption Bureau8217;s ACB lock-up at Bhoiwada police station today.
The arrests of Nayak and co-accused Rajendra Padate ended the 26-day drama that began when the ACB lodged a disproportionate assets case against Nayak and raided his properties.

Earlier in court, after Nayak and Padate surrendered before Sessions Judge S P Mahajan, Nayak8217;s lawyer Shyam Marwadi sought bail on the grounds that Nayak8217;s custodial interrogation was not necessary, but Additional Public Prosecutor R V Kini argued that if released on bail, Nayak could tamper with evidence.
