The suspended police sub-inspector, Daya Nayak, was arrested and taken to the Anti-Corruption Bureau8217;s ACB lock-up at Bhoiwada police station today.

The arrests of Nayak and co-accused Rajendra Padate ended the 26-day drama that began when the ACB lodged a disproportionate assets case against Nayak and raided his properties.

Sources said an ACB team was likely to question Nayak after the ACB seeks police custody for Nayak tomorrow.

Nayak will be lodged in the ACB lock-up on a separate floor. 8216;8216;He will be lodged alone in a separate lock-up,8217;8217; said Assistant Commissioner of Police Bhoiwada division Anil Nalawade.

Earlier in court, after Nayak and Padate surrendered before Sessions Judge S P Mahajan, Nayak8217;s lawyer Shyam Marwadi sought bail on the grounds that Nayak8217;s custodial interrogation was not necessary, but Additional Public Prosecutor R V Kini argued that if released on bail, Nayak could tamper with evidence.
