Heads ‘D-Company’

Dawood started as a petty smuggler of gold and silver during the 1980s but went on to become the undisputed king of Mumbai’s underworld and later a dreaded terrorist who had a major role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

Operating out of the Gulf region (mainly Dubai), Dawood is wanted in India for numerous charges of extortion threats, murders, smuggling, match-fixing charges and of course the Mumbai blasts, which killed 257 people and is regarded as one of the most ghastly acts of terrorism in India.

India has repeatedly accused Pakistan of sheltering Dawood and has ‘solid evidence’ to back its claim that it was ISI that supplied explosives to Dawood for the 93 Mumbai blasts.

Despite Pakistan’s claims that Dawood is not residing in Pakistan various security agencies have confirmed that he is currently a resident of Karachi’s posh ‘Clifton’ neighbourhood.
