A Delhi court today dismissed the bail application of former Brigadier and R038;AW director Computers Ujjwal Dasgupta, who has been arrested by the Delhi Police on charges of spying in the National Security Centre Secretariat breach case. The court further remanded him to judicial custody till August 28. The defence, which was seeking the bail application on the grounds of health, said it would move the sessions court for bail.
The prosecution argued that since the probe was at a crucial stage in the security breach case, bail could not be granted to the accused. The Delhi Police had earlier arrested Commander Mukesh Saini, coordinator of Indo-US cyber forum and Shib Shanker Paul, a senior system analyst at NSCS, for allegedly passing classified information to a US diplomat.
