Dak Sewa awards announced

Gian Singh, branch post master of Paplah in Kangra, Hari Chand, delivery agent, Kawar in Shimla, Chholdium Dorji, mail overseer ofRekong Peo in Kinnaur and Ranjit Singh, postal assistance of Dehra have been selected for Dak Sewa awards for the year 1997-98.

Postmen who would be awarded best postmen awards include Anokhi Ram Chail in Solan district Hem Raj of Hamirpur head post office, Tilak Raj of Daulatpur Chowk post office in Una district, Shiv Prashad of Daroh post office near Palampur in Kangra district, Mohan Singh of Mandi head post office and Dyan Singh of the Shimla GPO.

Negi said postal week would also be celebrated from tomorrow. He said during the week, department would make the public aware of visions and missions of the department and make the department receptive to public demand.

Negi said during the postal week saving bank day and philately day would also be celebrated. He said department would soon provide computerised saving bank facilities to its depositors in seven post offices during this year.
