
Punjab govt dismisses Patiala college lecturer
Chandigarh: The Punjab government today dismissed a college lecturer of Government Mohindra College, Patiala, Kuljinder Kaur, on account of remaining absent from duty without prior permission and not responding to the chargesheet served upon her. Stating this, an official spokesman on Wednesday said the Chief Minister has taken a serious view of the attitude of indiscipline among certain government employees who remain absent from duty for long, without intimating the competent authorities. The Chief Minister also directed the secretaries and heads of department to take strict administrative action against officials found guilty of violation of government norms and conduct rules.
CM announces meeting times
Chandigarh: Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has announced a separate meeting time for the public between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at his residence on every working day, whenever he is in station. Meeting hours for senior political functionaries have been fixed between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., while those for ministers and MLAs is between noon and 1.30 p.m. in his office at the Punjab Civil Secretariat.
