Mumbai8217;s art lovers are in for a rare treat in the coming months. Starting December, the accent is on millennium shows that feature established names as well as budding artists. From water colours to photography. Here are five exhibitions that express the collective voice of art on the end of an era:

WATERMARK:
Presented by the Fine Art Resource, Mumbai, Watermark features the works of leading artists like M F Husain, Arpita Singh, Atul Dodiya, Bhupen Khakhar and Laxman Shreshta. It reiterates the potential of the watercolour idiom to communicate the most complex sensibility in the days of installations and mixed media.
At Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda. Till Dec 11. Time: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

BEST OF FIVE YEARS:
To mark the beginning of the new millennium, the best exhibits of the gallery, over the last five years, are on display. The promising names include Bhiva Punekar, Milburn Cherian, Pratibha Wagh, Ramesh Deshmane and Vithal Hare.
At Pradarshak Gallery, 12th Road, Khar W. Till Dec 6. Time: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

EMBARKATION:
Devoted to new talent, 50 young artists from all over the country will display their experimental, ground-breaking work. The artists include Anjum Singh, Jinsook Shinde, Nilima Sheikh and Krishnamachari Bose.
At Sakshi Art Gallery, Sri Ram Mills Compound, Lower Parel. From Jan 2 to Jan 25. Time: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.

THE MINIATURE FORMAT SHOW:
An exhibition of the works of 80 artists, in three parts, it exploits the availability of limited space by providing quot;maximum intimacyquot;. The fourth of its kind, the show has displayed both the works of upcoming artists and established names. This time, the 46 artists include Akbar Padamsee, Brinda Miller, Dilip Ranade and Jai Zharotia.
At Sans Tache Art Gallery, Till February 4. Time: 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.

WOMAN/GODDESS:
This photographic exhibition deals with that stream of modern Indian photography that has been devoted totally to the Indian woman and popular forms of goddess worship in films as well as real life. From Nargis to Mother Teresa, this exhibition features the works of Arun Ganguly, Dyanita Singh, K Prabhakar, Nemai Ghosh and Swapan Nayak.
At the Piramal Art Gallery, NCPA. From Jan 4 to Jan 20. Time: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm.
