CHANDIGARH, July 30: A culvert located in Kishangarh village here is lying damaged for the past few months.

The residents, many of whom own farm houses in the village, say they have brought it to the notice of several departments after a part of it was washed away in the last rainy season. quot; But each of the officials keep on passing the buck, quot; they said.

Farm owners, Nirmaljit Singh and Harbhajan Singh, said their business has been badly affected but the administration has taken no action to rectify the fault. They said this has greatly restricted their movement as no vehicle except two-wheelers can pass through.

There are about 10 farm houses in the area. A couple of poultry farms are also located there.

Director and Deputy conservator of forests H.S. Sohal, when contacted, admitted to have visited the site but said the area didn8217;t fall in their departments jurisdiction.

The officials of the Engineering Department too didn8217;t have any inkling of the damage to the culvert.

Meanwhile, the residents said they planned to get the culvert repaired on their own as the officials have not been positive in their approach. quot; Some of the material required for the purpose is already in,quot; they said.
