House looted of valuables
Cash and valuables worth Rs 22,000 were stolen in broad daylight from a house in Meenakshi Society, adjoining Utkarsh School in Gadapura locality, on Monday. According to the J P Road police, the incident occurred between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the occupants of the house were away. The miscreants entered the house by forcing open the lock on the main door and stole the goods and cash from the cupboard.

Vehicle mishap
One Radhikaben Sanabhai Phulmali, resident of Pratapnagar, sustained injuries on her head, legs and arms after being hit by a speeding scooter bearing registration number GJ-6-LL-993 near Alvanaka on Monday afternoon. According to the Makarpura police, the woman was on her moped when the scooter hit her from the front. A case has been registered.

Woman killed
Superstition claimed another life on Monday evening, when a woman was killed in Sarwata mohalla of Nasvadi town, after being branded a dakan. According to the Vadodara district rural police control room, accused Mahaliabhai Kanjibhai Bhil approached Jangliben Tatiabbhai Bhil saying, 8220;You are a dakan, you devour everybody8221; and hit her on her mouth and stomach killing her instantaneously. The accused has been arrested, the police said.

Driver assaulted
In a dispute over the parking of an autorickshaw, auto driver Vijaybhai Ramdas Vani and his wife, residents of Nava Yard, were assaulted by three persons near Ambaji Mandir in Ramwadi area under Fatehgunj police station on Monday night. The police has registered an FIR against Bhaga Dayal, Jayesh Heera and Jayesh Bhaga. Investigations are on.
