
3 workers beat factory watchman
Three people, all labourers employed in a dyeing unit, beat up the watchman of the same company late on Saturday night and escaped from the scene, a case registered in the Sachin police station said. According to Pramod Sharma8217;s complaint, the accused beat him up when he objected to their going out to drink tea. The Umra police have registered a case under sections 323, 324 and 114 of the IPC as well as section 135 of the BPA.
Burgled
Unidentified people burgled a house located at Ganeshpura Housing Board on Saturday night and fled with cash and valuables worth Rs 45,000, the police said. According to a complaint filed by Chudabhai Desai, thieves broke into his room no 18/84 in the housing society after breaking the rear door8217;s latch and stole Rs 5,000 in cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 40,000. The Katargam police have registered a case of house-breaking and are investigating.
Cheating
The Rander police have registered a case of cheating, extortion and impersonating a public servant against one Ravindra Madanlal Sharma, who allegedly took Rs 2,500 from a person claiming that he was a CBI official. Mukesh Patel, the owner of a phone booth, complained to the Rander police that Sharma, a resident of Tadwadi area, approached him on Saturday wearing a CBI badge and said that the phone booth was illegal. The complainant also said that the accused forcibly took Rs 2,500 from him and left. A case under sections 170, 384 and 420 of the IPC has been registered.
