Woman8217;s body recovered
The dead body of an unidentified woman, aged about 30, was found near the Puna octroi post area during the early hours of Thursday, the police said. An unidentified caller informed the city police control room, who in turn informed the Kapodara police. The body did not bear any injury marks and has been sent to the New Civil hospital for scientific examination, the police said. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered.

Burns death
Twenty-year-old Budiaben Soni, a resident of Ganeshnagar area in Pandesara, who had been receiving treatment for burn injuries at the New Civil Hospital for the past five days, died on Thursday, the Pandesara police said. Budiaben was cooking in her house when a lamp fell over her, causing her burn injuries, the police added. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and are investigating.

Assaulted
One Ramesh Pandit, a youth residing at Patelwadi slum in Lal Darwaja area, complained to the police that Jitubhai Patel, a resident of the same area, assaulted him with an iron rod on Thursday morning. As the accused was against Pandit8217;s relations with his daughter, Patel assaulted him, the complainant added. The Mahidharpura police are investigating further.

House burgled
Cash, gold and silver ornaments, worth Rs 28,000 were stolen from a house located at Puna village on the outskirts of the city, a case registered in the Kapodara police station said. Gautam Muni Shukla, the house-owner told the police that unidentified people broke into his house and decamped with the valuables and cash. A case under sections 454 and 380 of the IPC has been registered and is being investigated.
