Cheating worth 3 lakh alleged
Sector 6 resident L.S. Pabla reported to the police that he has been cheated to the tune of Rs 3 lakh by Sector 42 residents 8212; Jarnail Singh and Gurdeep Singh, S.K. Garg, Parveen Kumar and C.S. Arora. Police sources said Pabla, who is into the business of film production company, said that two of those named in the case were employed with him and forged his cheques to cheat him. Some employees of a sector 37 bank allegedly connived with him, police sources added. A case has been registered and the Special Crime Cell has been asked to investigate.

Withdrawal forms
Manager of Punjab State Co-operative Bank in Sector 8, R.K. Verma reported to the police that five bags of deposit and withdrawal forms have been stolen away by a woman. A case has been registered.

Whisky seized
Roopnagar district resident, Madan Lal, has been arrested with 50 pouches of whisky from Faidan barrier. A case under Excise Act has been registered againt him.

24 arrested
During the past 24 hours, five persons have been arrested for roaming under suspicious circumstances and seven were held for creating nuisance under the influence of liquor at a public place, while one person was held for driving after consuming liquor.
