1 held for theft
A Panchkula Sector 2 resident, Habib Kaider has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police on charges of stealing a casio and a sitar. Police sources said that both the articles have been recovered from the accused8217;s possession.
Liquor seized
A Kurukshetra resident was arrested from the Ambala-Chandigarh road near the industrial Area with 350 pouches of liquor and 12 bottles of wiskey. Police have registere a case under the excise act against him.
Seven held
In separate incidents, seven persons were arrested under preventive measures, while six others were arrested while found roaming about under suspicious circumstances. Another person was arrested while found creating a nuisance in a public place under the influence of liqour.
Assault alleged
Sector 7 resident Manmohan Singh has lodged a complaint that he was assaulted and threatened with dire concequences by three persons in the Sector 8 market who fled away later. The injured complainant has been admitted to a hospital and further investigations are on and a case has been registered.
Sector 21 resident Subhash Chander has reported that his Bajaj Chetak scooter CH-01-U-2509 was stolen from the Sector 17 parking lot. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
