
AHMEDNAGAR, Aug 28: Communist labour leader and councillor Malleshyam Yemul died following cardiac arrest yesterday. He was 56. Yemul, who hailed from Akola district, had come to Ahmednagar as a powerloom worker in 1964.
He was drawn to the movements launched by the Communist Party of India and the party8217;s labour wing. He soon became a full-time trade unionists, leading various CPI unions. For the last six years, he had played an effective role as the lone councillor representing his party. He is survived by wife and a married son.
