CHANDIGARH, May 10: The Delhi Police team headed by an inspector is said to have visited Ambala in search of the pistol with which Manu Sharma allegedly killed Jessica Lal. They are looking for an Ambala resident whom sources say Manu met after committing crime.

The police has so far been unable to trace a man identifed as quot;Tituquot; who allegedly helped Manu to hide the weapon of used in the crime. The police is exploring the possibility that Manu bought the .22 bore pistol from Ambala which, a police official said, has a big arms market. Sources said the recovery of the .22 bore pistol allegedly used by Manu in shooting down the model was of paramount importance for prosecuting him. The team is also verifying certain statements made by Manu during interrogation. Manu8217;s police remand expires tomorrow.

According to reports, a Delhi police team brought Manu Sharma here yesterday to recover the pistol allegedly used in the killing of the model but local police decline to confirm the presence of the Delhi police team in city. They said the Delhi police has not been in touch with the local police.
