
PUNE, Sept 29: A young woman residing at Mahatma Gandhi Housing Society in Taljai area allegedly abducted a 10-months-old boy from her neighbourhood with the help of a friend on Sunday evening.
The Sahakarnagar police have lodged a massive hunt to track down the alleged abductors Sonali Rohidas Jagtap and Vishal Nagnath Prakshale after Sonali8217;s neighbour Anjali S Shinde lodged a First Information Report FIR accusing them of abducting her son Sooraj alias Data. However, the abductors or the victim could not be traced till late in the night.
Police said Vishal, who is an autorickshaw driver from Padmavati, often visited Mahatma Gandhi Housing Society to meet Sonali. Anjali and Sooraj were standing outside their flat on Sunday evening when Sonali and Vishal approached them.
According to the police, Sonali and Vishal played with Sooraj for a short while before whisking him away the boy under the garb of purchasing sweets for him.
Anjali went to the Sahakarnagar police station and lodged the FIR when they did not return for a long time. In her FIR, Anjali expressed suspicion that the duo might have abducted Sooraj with the intention of stealing the jewelry worn by him.
