Cops draw a blank in Mehar attack case

It8217;s been a month since the brutal attack on Mehar Bhargava in Hazratrganj, but the Lucknow Police are still clueless about the whereabouts of Amit, the fourth accused. The prime accused, Sachin Pahari, is also at large.

Amit reportedly passed lewd remarks at Bhargava8217;s daughter-in-law and later entered into an altercation with her, the police say. The only information the police have about Amit is that he was a friend of Pahari, who had allegedly shot at Bhargava. The police say once they have Pahari, they will also be able to get information about Amit.

The police add that during interrogation, Jai Prakash and Pramod Singh, two others arrested in connection with the case, have claimed that they met Amit the first time that day.
