Cops beat up man in Jhansi

An Agra-based trader was allegedly beaten up by a group of unidentified policemen in plain clothes at the Jhansi railway station on Friday. The victim had lodged a case of loot against some personnel of the Railway Protection Force RPF four years ago and had come to attend the hearing in the matter at the Jhansi court on Friday. Circle Officer CO GRP Jhansi Janardan Chaubey said: 8220;The victim, Rajesh Kumar, has alleged that the assailants wanted to threaten him. He was about to leave the station after reaching Jhansi when some persons assaulted him. He is a dealer of leather goods in Agra.8221; Chaubey said the injury marks on victim8217;s body were evident and it appeared that some GRP personnel were involved in the attack. It was, however, yet to be verified if the attack was sequel to the old dispute with the RPF men, the CO said.
