The Congress on Thursday welcomed the Left8217;s decision to return to the UPA-Left coordination committee meetings.

8220;We welcome their decision. We want them to participate in the meetings and that is why we did not call the meeting since May,8221; AICC general secretary Ambika Soni said. Asked when the meetings will start, she said UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will decide.

On the possibility that the Left may raise contentious issues at the meeting, she said it depended on the leadership of each party whether to strengthen the coalition or weaken it.

She said the Prime Minister had made it clear that the government was implementing the Common Minimum Programme.
