Cong proposes Bansal146;s name as its candidate

Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee president B B Behl, while addressing a gathering during the visit of Shivraj Patil, said that during Bansal8217;s efforts have satisfied the residents. Bansal listens to their problems and ensures that these are taken care of. No one who went to him with some work had to return disappointed.

8220;We will make him win by a margin of more than one lakh votes. Anything less than this would be considered as a loss. Bansal knows everyone in Chandigarh and has support of the people. We would request you to recommend his name to Sonia Gandhi so that he contests again from the city in the coming elections,8221; he added.

The councillors of the MC, leaders of the Youth Congress, NSUI, office-bearers of the CTCC, former Mayors as well as other leaders were present at the occasion.

Praising the efforts made by the Bansal, Mayor Pardeep Chhabra said that he has given every minute of his time to the residents of the city. 8220;There has been a 57 per cent increase in the budget for the city in the Revised Estimate. The city has received sufficient funds for development. He has made all efforts for the development of the city,8221; said the Mayor.
