Shekhar Suman makes a lot of it

He is what we8217;d like to call an uncommon commoner. In a world of copycats, Shekhar Sumna comes across as one of the originals. He may not have his set of Sumanisms, but he sure does make a lot of common sense, a pretty uncommon trait. Shoot any question, and the quote martial is a gratifying one. Take for instance the recent Shiv Sena Mumbai episode. While celebs raise their hands in 8216;please don8217;t quote us8217;, Shekhar is upfront: 8220;In a cosmopolitan like Mumbai, this is the height of paradox, of dichotomy. Mumbai is considered to be the melting pot, but it8217;s sad that such a heavily politically motivated thing has taken place. It8217;s the responsibility of individuals to see through this divisive policy.8221; He expects the government to be consistent and persistent, for the people to be more rooted, aware and conscious. 8220;It8217;s our constitutional right.8221; In town for the Punjab Government8217;s function to commemorate the birth centenary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shekhar updates our Google info on him. 8220;I8217;ve opened my production house, Windmill Entertainment and there are a couple of films coming up next year.8221; Apparently, he wants his production house to focus on non-fiction programming. One is already on the floor for NDTV.

Shake and move to other facets of life, and Suman says he8217;s 8220;tired of doing comedy8221;. 8220;For me, an act of comedy is all about wit, satire, humour and a spontaneous take on life, not something that8217;s borrowed or double meaning.8221; This was one of reasons he opted out of Laughter Challenge. 8220;You can see its progressive degeneration,8221; he8217;s sick of the nauseating humour. 8220;We are living in an era of multi-tasking and the greatest thing about creativity is that you can do anything and be anyone,8221; he8217;s happy to see the fresh raw appeal in Rock On. 8220;Precisely why you can8217;t have stars as Ram or Sita. Ramayan and Mahabharata are already great stories, you don8217;t need stars to sell these.8221; But then, everyone succumbs to market pressure. 8220;Because we are star driven,8221; he smiles. So is son Adhayan too eyeing stardom? 8220;You know Mahesh Bhatt said that Adhayan8217;s capability to perform is amazing, has to be genetic,8221; Bhatt has the talent to spot talent! 8220;If you are grounded, self-righteous, then Bhatt is your camp. If it8217;s overnight stardom, look to Yash Raj.8221; Adhayan, in the meanwhile, will be seen in Bhatt8217;s Raaz II and Jashan which is about the life of a rockstar. Whatever they say, Suman is the real rockstar!
