CHANDIGARH, Nov 2: Group songs, dances and plays were presented by high school students of Shishu Niketan Senior Secondary Model School, Sector 22, here today.The programme commenced with a welcome song and pooja dance. The highlights of the evening was a qawwali ``Jab bhi paper hote hain, nanha dil ghabrata hai'' and a Punjabi play highlighting the importance of studies. The performance of students in the English play ``Revenue of an Educated Girl'' - which brought out the evil of dowry was commendable. School principal S Khorana, in her annual report, highlighted the achievements of students.Finance Secretary G Vajralingam, who was the chief guest, appreciated the efforts of the Principal and staff in raising the standard of education and bringing all round development. Later, he gave away prizes to the meritorious students and teachers. Two teachers - Kamlesh Sabharwal and Veena Joshi - were awarded prizes for giving cent per cent results. The winners of the state talent search contest and the first two position holders of the UT Middle school examination were among those who received prizes.
