VADODARA, SEPT 7: The thirty-odd Class XI students of Jayashree Kanya Vidyalay at Dandia Bazar will now be admitted to other schools as there are not enough students in the class for it to continue.

As per guidelines, this year there were to be at least 50 students per class for Class XI. The school8217;s students and their parents objected to this decision and protested against the District Education Officer8217;s stand on the matter.

8220;The students8217; fees will be adjusted in the schools that they go to, hence there would not be any financial loss for the students,8221; said DEO V Nanavati. He added that he would instruct school managements to accommodate these students.

8220;Our objection is about the delayed decision taken by the DEO,8221; said Naval Bajaj, office-bearer of the city unit Youth Congress. He added that the students had already started attending classes in this school, and if the DEO had to take such a decision, he should have taken it earlier.

8220;What shall we do with the uniforms that have already been made, it will be an added expenditure for us,8221; said one of the parents. The Youth Congress members have condemned the DEO8217;s decision and said that the school management, too, should have though about it earlier.
