Theatre as a school
It was youngsters who took the stage at the Kumarnatyotsav, a two-day theatre festival which concluded recently. Put up by Devadatta Pathak as part of the Chirantan Kumar Rangabhoomi project, the plays, which were staged at the Balgandharava Rangmandir, effectively showed that theatre is an effective educational tool.

Contemporary themes explored by the plays included the circumstances that lead children to behave violently, the need to preserve cleanliness and how interaction between children of different cultures could help in nurturing healthy world relations. A case of youngsters showing the way.

There are more characters who add to this chaos, and finally the whole mess becomes a pandemonium on stage. Directed by Devendra Mistry, the play will be staged at Nehru Hall.
