MUMBAI, JUNE 2: International corporate and financial communications consultancy Citigate Dewe Rogerson, a subsidiary of the 113.8 million pound Incepta Group Plc of the UK, today announced the launch of its Indian operations here.

The company had received the Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance in February envisaging an investment of upto one million dollars. 8220;Citigate would assist Indian companies to build corporate reputation, optimise valuation, encourage fair treatment of minority shareholders and good corporate governance,8221; said Rosanagh Catherwood, chief representative of the Incepta Group.

The company is in talks with the government to handle the privatisation of public sector companies. The firm had handled international media relations and communication advice for the GDR issues of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited in 1997. Its clients in India currently include Digital Equipment India Limited, Wockhardt and Biwater International.

A market researchstudy by Citigate found 26 per cent of respondents believed investor relations led to a better understanding of companies by investors and 23 per cent believed it led to well-informed investors, built investor support and created shareholder value. 8220;The survey was done with 32 CEOs of leading listed companies and 84 per cent of them said they planned formal institutional investor relations,8221; Catherwood said.
