Gurjjars hold sway
The BSP factor might be giving sleepless nights to the Congress, but for the BJP, the party spells good times. On Saturday, spreading cheer in the BJP camp, the BSP councillor from ward 99 in Tuglaqabad, Giri Raj, declared he would be joining the BJP. The BJP has given a ticket to Ramesh Bhiduri from the area, while the Congress has fielded Sheesh Pal. The BJP is at present confident of winning Tughlaqabad after fielding a Gurjjar candidate.

BJP8217;s Tyagi from Burari
BJP has decided to stop playing the waiting game before deciding upon the candidate for Burari and declared local candidate Sri Krishan Tyagi as their man from the area.
Tyagi has been working for a long time in the area and also lives there.
BJP candidate for Gandhi Nagar, Kalpana Jain, has formally withdrawn her candidature. The party is yet to announce their candidate from Gandhi Nagar. With Jain8217;s withdrawal, the BJP only has three women candidates now.
