Small to big
After countless appearances by big-screen stars on the small screen, it is now time for the small-screen stars to take the big screen by storm. The cast of Hats Off Production8217;s popular show Jasubein Jayantilal Joshi Ki Joint Family will be setting a trend of sorts by appearing in a Gujarati film, Vanechand No Varghodo. The key cast of the show, including Swati Chitnis and Anang Desai, will shoot alongside Devang Patel, who is the lead actor in the movie. The team recently went to Ahmedabad to shoot the special sequence that will be seen in the movie. Maybe this pioneering effort will herald more big-screen-small-screen liaisons in the future.

Scarily predictable
TELEVISION8217;s obsession with the supernatural is never-ending, it seems. The latest offering in the spine-chiller genre is SaharaOne8217;s Kaisi Laagi Lagan. Mahi Vij plays the role of Pratha, who se family is cursed- that none of them will have a happy married life. But as fate will have it, Pratha does meet a man played by Asmit Kaushik with whom she falls in love. What happens next is anyone8217;s guess, but it does involve Pratha overcoming the obstacles of age and time to bring the message of truth and love triumphing over evil. Did we hear somebody say 8216;same old8217;?

Juggling jobs
KARISHMA Randhewa is one busy bee. The popular telly actress, well-known as Sonu on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has been in the business for four years and is raring to expand her capabilities to their full extent. That is why the actress will now be seen in four different roles 8212;a negative one on Zee TV8217;s Parivaar, a positive role on SaharaOne8217;s Doli Saja Ke, a comic role on Zee TV8217;s upcoming Rang and a meaty part on SaharaOne8217;s popular Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki. That is a lot of work for one girl, but we8217;re sure Karishma can manage it.

Weighty matters
WEIGHTLIFTING of a different sort left actor Arjun Bijlani with a sprained back. The actor was practising salsa moves with his co-star Rati Pandey for an episode featuring a dance competition on their show Star One8217;s Miley Jab Hum Tum. The romantic scene turned painful for Arjun as he sprained his back while lifting his Rati. Everybody had a good laugh at poor Arjun8217;s expense and ribbed him about needing to pump iron before lifting his co stars. But being a sport, Arjun took the jokes in good humour and has not let his hurt back stop him from shooting. Now, there8217;s a brave lad.
