
Muslim board issues fatwa
Intervening in the ongoing controversy over compulsory recitation of Vande Mataram and Sarswati Vandana, the Muslim Personal Law Board has issued a fatwa asking Muslims to withdraw their children/ wards from government run schools where the order is being imposed, a report from Lucknow said. Chairman of the Law Board Ali Mian said: 8220;The decision is highly un-Islamic and an attempt to play with the religious sentiments of people8221;.
CBI raids Reliance office
The CBI today raided the main corporate office of Reliance Industries Limited, probing the links of their president Delhi operations V. Balasubramaniam with Romesh Sharma, alleged aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, a report from New Delhi said.
