I had thought that having a champagne Sunday brunch with kids around was a bad idea. Should have stuck to my instincts and left the brat pack at home. However, having made the mistake, I entered Le Cafe at Hotel Surya for its all new buffet brunch, which offers unlimited champagne too.
The USP of the buffet is that it has the largest variety of dishes in the citymore than 110 on offer. The chefs had laid out a buffet that was basically a selection of Indian and Chinese food. There were four soups on offer too, which I decided to skip. The buffet also includes Kathi Rolls, which the chefs make on order. The chicken rolls were spicy, catering to the typical Delhi palate. In fact, all of the buffet had a touch of the spicy, from the Hyderabadi Fish to the Singapore Chicken.
Feeding the brats was easier as they could choose what they pleased, without any sulking at the table. They opted to take a pick of the cold cuts in the salad platter, some noodles and rolls. The Hyderabadi Keema Rice in the main course is touted as Le Cafe8217;s star dish, and it was.
The desserts, too, were good, though not too extensive in range when compared with the range of the other courses. But there was more than enough for the brats to even have a second helping, despite keeping off the ice-cream.
There was nothing extraordinary about the foodit was pretty much the same as at most other buffets. But the difference was in the price. The buffet is priced at Rs 415, including taxes, and with the champagne flowing freely I stayed away from the bubbly as the brats had to be driven home, it is a steal. Le Cafe has hit upon a good idea that makes for an ideal lazy Sunday eating out trip.
