
LALRU, Dec 4: A cattle competition was organised at the Government Senior Secondary School here today, by the Milkfed Verka Milk Plant, Mohali, and Lalru Cooperative Milk Producers8217; Society Ltd.
According to the spokesperson, some 72 animals 51 buffaloes and 11 cows were made to compete. Eight-five milk producers were given a bonus of Rs 1.15 lakh on the sixth bonus distribution function of the society, on the basis of the milk supplied by them.
The cattle was examined and graded by a team of five veterinary doctors led by Dr N.K.Patyal, on the the basis of their appearance, dairy character etc.
Milkfed MD Amrik Singh said Milkfed had been supplying milk at a reasonable price besides providing technical services to the members of the society. He said they were also formulating other schemes for the milk producers. Milk Plant MD Manmohan Munjal highlighted the various schemes for milk producers saying that under the clean milk production programme8217;, a block milk cooler and milk collection station has been started.
