MUMBAI, NOV 16: The West Indies A cricket team that arrived here on Saturday night, had a light workout at the Brabourne Stadium this morning. They play their first tour match against Board President8217;s XI here from November 18-20.

The team has come here after a nine-day tour of Bangladesh and would like to put behind the 1-2 loss they suffered in the One-day series there.8220;What the boys have to learn is that they can not afford to lose concentration and focus, and have to be ready to give their best all the time,8221; said coach Roger Harper.

The team is fighting fit except for a few niggling problems, but there seems to be 8220;nothing to worry about8221;, according to Harper. Batsman Chris Gayle, who replaced Floyd Reifer in the team, has also arrived and joined the squad at the nets. Reifer has taken the place of the injured Jimmy Adams in the West Indies squad touring South Africa.

The team has two spinners, leg-spinner Rawle Lewis, who toured Pakistan last winter and made his Test debut there, and left-armspinner Neil McGarrell, one of the highest wicket-takers in domestic cricket. An indication of the West Indies8217; shift in focus to spin ?

8220;Spin is making a come back in world cricket,8221; said the former off-spinner Harper. 8220;Each team has a world class spinner and we realise that spin has a contribution to make.8221;

Though there have been no special measures taken in the West Indies to develop young cricketers in terms of cricket academies, Harper informed that camps and clinics were organised to impart specialist training. Former cricketers like Augustine Logie for batting, Lance Gibbs and Pakistan8217;s Intikab Alam for spin and Andy Roberts for fast bowling were some of those involved in the scheme.

During the course of their month-long Indian tour, the Caribbeans are scheduled to play two Tests8217;, three One-dayers8217; against India A and few practice matches.
