
SURAT, June 23: Gujarat Kranti Sena has threatened to take to the streets if the State government did not withdraw the transfer of S Jagadeesan, who was moved out on Monday.
The newly formed outfit has blamed the 8220;vested interests8221; to have managed to get the 8220;upright8221; officer transferred from Surat. In a statement issued here, the Sena has claimed that the 8220;honest officer8217;s8221; transfer was a setback to the city. Exhorting the people to oppose the transfer and force the government to reinstate Jagadeesan as the municipal commissioner of Surat, the Sena has threatened to launch a 8220;peaceful8221; non-violent agitation to pressurise the government to withdraw the transfer order.
