
MUMBAI, January 1: Balmohan Vidya Mandir BVM made a quick entry into the final of the Giles Shield Inter-Schools cricket tournament 75 overs sponsored by Thums-Up.
Balmohan scored a resounding 10-wicket semi-final win over Springfield-Rizvi in a day at Bharat Ground, Shivaji Park on Thursday.
Springfield-Rizvi, batting first were all out for 149 in 36.3 overs. Manoj Giri8217;s fighting knock of 62 with a six and 12 fours assisted with a useful 41 by Muddasar Sayad were the highlights of their innings.
Medium pacer Hrishikesh Ambre claimed five for 51 to finish the most succesful bowler. Dinesh Naik 3-18 rendered fine support.
Balmohan cruised to the target in 32.1 overs without losing a wicket. Openers Kiran Mayekar 60: 7215;4 and Sameer Surve 72: 10215;4 put on 153 runs for the first wicket.

Aroskar to lead: Amit Aroskar of Ruparel College has been selected to lead the Mumbai University team for the Inter-University Cricket tournament to be staged at Bhopal from January 4.
The 16-member team selected after a two-day trial that concluded at the Islam Gymkhana this evening. The team leaves for Bhopal tomorrow.
