Businessman robbed of Rs 2 lakh

FARIDABAD, February 9: Barely 200 Metres away from a police post in the NIT area, a Gurgaon-based businessman was robbed of Rs 2 lakh in cash and his Maruti car by six armed persons this afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m., when the businessman, Mussadi Lal, was on way back to his home in Gurgaon. Eyewitnesses said as soon as the Maruti car in which Mussadi Lal was travelling reached the NH 3-4 intersection, another car overtook it.

It stopped in front of Lal8217;s car and four or five armed persons came out. They dragged Lal out on gun-point and then got into his car and sped away, taking with them the Rs 2 lakh which was kept in a briefcase in the car.Lal, who supplies animal food, had came to Faridabad to collect money from retailers.

No senior police officials were present at the NIT police station to comment on the incident.
