HYDERABAD, December 13: A buoyant England take on Denmark in their third Hero Honda Women’s World Cup Group A match at the Gymkhana tomorrow. With two wins from as many matches, England are upbeat. After scoring a narrow seven-run win over South Africa at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Thursday, the defending champions thrashed Pakistan at Vijayawada yesterday. There was a record score of 386 for two against Pakistan with Jannette Brittin and Barabara Daniels slamming centuries.
Aussies favourites: Pakistan will face Australia in their third match, in Group A, at the Lal Bahadur Stadium tomorrow. The drubbing they received at the hands of defending champions England yesterday didn’t come as any surprise for the young, but pragmatic Pakistanis. Instead, Pakistani skipper Shaiza Khan is happy that their batting emerged as a positive factor in that match.
SA appear stronger
PUNE: While South Africa look bright on paper after having defeated Ireland thrice earlier, the latter appears in no mood to give up so easily as the two meet each other at the Nehru Stadium for their third encounter in the Hero Honda Women’s World Cup here tomorrow. "We have a sound record against Ireland but they are not to be underestimated," said the South African skipper Kim Price.
