HYDERABAD, April 11: Devendra Bundela (113; 315b, 417m, 14×4) ensured that Madhya Pradesh clinch the lead despite yet another five-wicket haul by the Hyderabad off-spinner Kanwaljit Singh. As a result, this Ranji Trophy cricket semi-final match is interestingly poised.

MP, who were bowled out at the stroke of tea for 337, took 57 runs lead. By the end of the third day’s play, Hyderabad recovered from a disastrous start (1-2) to wipe out the deficit on the last ball of the day.

Abbas Ali (77; 196m, 156b, 10×4, 1×6) departed early but by then he had stood ground for a fourth wicket stand worth 116 runs with Bundela, who was also involved in a 78-run stand with Chandrakant Pandit (37).

In the event, Kanwaljit also claimed his 50th wicket of the season in the presence of National selectors — Ashok Malhotra, Madan Lal and Anil Deshpande.
