AMBALA, Nov 12: The police resorted to mild lathi-charge to disperse the BSP workers who had gathered at the Ambala Sadar police station here today. These persons led by district BSP unit president Puran Saini entered into a drawl with the supporters of a Congress leader Mohan Singh Bhanokheri who had allegedly beaten up Gurdarshan Singh alias Lalli, resident of Bahnukheri village on November 10 in the village and the police had registered a case against the alleged assailants. Mohan Singh had brought them to produce before the police in the police station.

Puran Singh, a friend of Gurdarshan, entered into a quarrel with both the Mohan Singh group and the police and raised slogans. Assistant Superintendent of Police Sandeep Khirwat reached the PS with force which lathi-charged the BSP workers who had reportedly gone out of control. It is learnt that Puran and Mohan Singh nursed old enmity against each other. Gurdarshan was also allegedly attacked by the supporters of Mohan Singh to settle scores with him.
