CALCUTTA, April 15: Border Security Force BSF, Jalandhar annexed the 103rd Beighton Cup hockey tournament scraping past Army XI 1-0 in a fast-paced final at the Mohun Bagan ground here today.

Habil Topno scored the winner following a penalty corner in the 40th minute to record BSF8217;s fourth triumph in five summit appearances in the country8217;s oldest hockey tournament.

While BSF were rewarded with Rs one lakh, the losers, who had to be content with the runners up trophy for the second time in five final outings received Rs 50,000.

BSF, who defeated Army XI 6-4 via tie-breaker to clinch the top spot in Group B8217; in the quarter final, could have walked away with a bigger margin today, had their players, particularly Man of the Match Harbhajan Singh, not squandered a number of opportunities.
