Sources said Burhi-Dehing, too, has crossed the danger mark at Khowang, about 20 km downstream of Dibrugarh.

In adjoining Tinsukia district, over 4,000 persons in eleven villages have been hit, with Kundli river flooding their houses and paddy fields.

Railway traffic beyond Lakhimpur on the Rangiya-Murkongselek MG section has been suspended. The National Highway 52 has been flooded and cut off by Jiyadhol river at several places in Dhemaji, cutting off road link to Jonai.
