A day after The Sunday Express reported that two email addresses were used by the Mumbai-based Lashkar-e-Toiba LeT module to keep in touch with their handlers and other operatives, it appears that one of the two IDs 8212; ibn_chandyahoo.com 8212; is still active and a mail was sent from it as recently as this morning.

While the first email id 8212; smelloffloweryahoo.com 8212; was blocked on the instructions of intelligence agencies following the arrest of Laskar-e-Toiba8217;s Mumbai chief Faizal Sheikh two months ago, the second ID has been left operational. The mail sent today claims that none of those involved in the blasts have been apprehended and that Pune is their next target.

But the Mumbai Police, which failed to block this ID, believe it is just a ploy to divert attention of the investigators. Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad ATS chief and Joint Commissioner of Police K P Raghuvanshi said: 8220;This is to divert the investigators but we will still probe if it is linked.8221;

The email ibn_chandyahoo.com was being used by Mohammad Ali Chipa and Rahil Sheikh, a prime suspect in the Aurangabad arns haul case. In his statement to the Mumbai crime branch, Delhi special cell and subsequently to the ATS, Chipa said that he and his colleagues used both the emails to communicate with Rahil. Later, Firoz Deshmukh of the Islamic Research Foundation and Noman also used the same mails to communicate with Rahil who by then had escaped to Dhaka.

The sender of today8217;s email has been identified as one Imtiaz, a resident of Mumbra, who claims that the train blasts were his group8217;s handiwork and that all those involved have earned well and are leading normal lives.
