Missionary Catholic schools in Lucknow will remain closed on Monday in protest against the attack on a prestigious girls convent school by BJYM activists on Sunday. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government ordered a probe into the reported fainting of some students during a seance held 8220;to invoke the spirit of Jesus Christ8221; at the Loreto Convent here this week.

Today, a group of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha BJYM activists attacked and ransacked the school premises accusing the management of trying to convert its students. They ransacked the guesthouse and another room, before breaking the panes of the chapel. Three of the protesters were arrested by the Hazratganj police soon after.

The school has denied that a seance was held and said the students fainted due to the sultry weather.
