BJP chief M. Venkaiah Naidu said on Sunday there is no change in his party8217;s stand that all the Constitutional posts, including that of the Prime Minister, should be held by Indian-born citizens.
8216;8216;It is not because Jayalalithaa is raking up the issue now. Even some Congressmen have raised the issue earlier and some quit the party,8217;8217; he said, in reply to questions on whether his party would support Jayalalithaa8217;s stand.
8216;8216;It does not concern any particular individual. We had a foreign rule and we fought against it. Every Indian, irrespective of caste, creed, sect, religion or region normally wants to have an Indian as the leader and Prime Minister,8217;8217; he added.
Lashing out at the Congress and Communist parties, BJP chief M. Venkaiah Naidu today accused them of indulging in 8216;8216;spit-and-run tactics8217;8217; after their failure to destabilise the NDA government by hurling 8216;8216;unfounded charges8217;8217;.
