
Bullion prices firm up
MUMBAI: Prices of both the precious metals, gold and silver, firmed up on the bullion market on Friday due to good demand in the face of restricted supply. Better overseas advices also helped the uptrend. Standard gold rose by Rs 10 to end at Rs 4345 from yesterday8217;s close of Rs 4335, while 22-carat gold was nominally quoted better at Rs 4020 from Rs 4010. Ten-tola gold bar .999 rallied by Rs 100 to close at Rs 50,900 from the last close of Rs 50,800 on good local buying.
Raw silver .916 shot up by Rs 85 and closed at Rs 7585 as against the previous close of Rs 7500 due to thin supply. Ready silver .999 opened weak at Rs 7685, but recovered towards the fag end on good industrial demand and closed at Rs 7710, showing a small gain of Rs 10 over the last day8217;s Close of Rs 7700.

SRF launches NYLO8217; PVC coated nylon
MUMBAI: SRF Ltd has launched NYLO8217; PVC coated nylon tarpaulin in the western part of the country through the company8217;s exclusive authorised distributors. SRF8217;s Industrial Fabrics Division, which is located at Viralimalai in Tamilnadu, has introduced this revolutionary product called NYLO. It is a PVC coated nylon fabrics and is aimed at replacing the conventional tarpaulin made of cotton. It would be most useful in monsoon season.

GE Medical Systems
MUMBAI: GE Medical Systems has rolled out its 10,000th CT scanner made in Asia. GE manufactured its first CT scanner in Asia over 15 years ago, and now manufactures CT scanners in four countries-India, Japan, China and South Korea. Wipro GE in India is the undisputed leader with over 250 CT scanners installed in metros as well as in smaller towns, spread across the subcontinent.
SAP AG
MUMBAI: Top ERP vendor SAP AG, will invest 11 million in its development centre in India to make it the company8217;s biggest laboratory, next only to its headquarters at Germany. SAP has three other development centres at Tokyo, France, and United States.
The India development facility, SAP Labs India Pvt Ltd, will grow anywhere from 300 to 500 professionals in the next three years, Urdo Urbanek, co-director, said.The facility, which was set up four months ago at Bangalore, currently has 150 professionals.
Citrix in India
MUMBAI: Citrix Systems Inc, the 248.6 million US-based software company, is setting up offices in India. The firm which won the Forbes award for the most dynamic company of 1998 also announced the launch of the latest versions of its server products, MetaFrame and WinFrame and two new management service products, Resource Management Services and Installation Management Services, in India. The products were launched in the US in February.
Addressing a conference in this connection, Citrix Asia Pacific managing director Nabeel Youakim, said the it would invest approximately 7,00,000 in appointing resellers and setting up offices at Mumbai and Delhi by the year end. Datapro Infoworld is the sole distributor of Citrix products in India.
