Merrill ups stake in arm

MUMBAI: Merrill Lynch has increased its stake in sister-concern DSP Merrill Lynch Securities Ltd to 40 per cent, a release issued by DSP Merrill Lynch said. DSP Merrill Lynch Securities Ltd, an equity broking firm, has a capital of Rs 60 million. Merrill Lynch had earlier taken an 8.33 per cent stake in December, 1996, with an option to increase its effective ownership to 40 per cent within a 24-months.

BSE to shift Digital to quot;Aquot; group

MUMBAI: The BSE authorities have decided to shift Digital Equipment I Ltd from quot;B1quot; group of securities to quot;Aquot; group instead of Sandoz India Ltd, with effect from February 23, 1998.

ModiLuft GDR issue

NEW DELHI: ModiLuft on Thursday announced the launch of roadshow in overseas and domestic markets for its 50 million preference issue. The clearance to the ModiLuft issue by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board FIPB as well as the civil aviation ministry had been opposed just a month ago byUnion Civil Aviation Minister C M Ibrahim. The minister had alleged that the clearance was given by civil aviation secretary M K Kaw without taking him into confidence.The road shows for the ModiLuft issue will be held in Europe, Canada, US and the Middle-East, according to a statement released by the company. Details of the road show were finalised at a meeting held in London.
