Birla Yamaha to pay 11
MUMBAI:
Birla Yamaha has shown improved performance for 1997-98. The total sales is at Rs 70.48 crore. Gross profit before interest, depreciation and tax is 19.56 per cent of the total income in comparison to 18.45 per cent of last year showing an improvement at operating level. Profit before tax is Rs 11.20 crore against Rs 10.63 crore. The directors have recommended a maiden dividend of 11 per cent on its enhanced equity capital on pro-rata basis.

Syndicate Bank
MUMBAI:
Syndicate Bank, Mumbai Zone, has been upgraded and put under the charge of a general manager. The Mumbai zone of the bank comprises of Maharashtra and Goa with its headequarters in Mumbai. Y M Shetty, general manager has assumed charge of the Mumbai zone as its new zonal head. Shetty had held various positions such as deputy general manager of the Ahmedabad and Mangalore zones before elevated as general manager in 1996.

Zenith
MUMBAI:
The total income of Zenith for the year endedMarch 1998 went up to Rs 284.52 crore, higher by 34 per cent. Gross profit of Rs 14.31 crore was higher by 136 per cent and the net profit at Rs 12.41 crore recorded a substantial jump of 181 per cent over that of the previous year. This performance has been possible by better realisation from exports and overall manufacturing and marketing efficiency.
