Assault on euro continues
LONDON:
The euro hit lifetime lows against the yen and looked likely to do the same against the dollar on Wednesday as investors worried that Europe8217;s economic recovery could be undermined. The euro fell to a new low of 106.48 yen, down nearly 20 in the year to date, before clawing back some losses to trade around 106.65 yen by mid-afternoon in Europe. Against the dollar, the euro slipped as low as 1.0207, within a shiver of the 1.0104 lifetime low set in July. It then edged back up to cling around 1.0220 after the S growth figures.

Herbertsons to pay 25 pc dividend
MUMBAI:
Herbertsons Ltd, the Mumbai-based UB group company, has maintained divided at 25 per cent for the year ended March 1999. During the year, the company recorded a turnover of Rs 268 crore as compared to Rs 220 crore in the previous year, a growth of 22 per cent. The company also achieved a 14 per cent growth in volume. Its PAT stood at Rs 4.98 crore against Rs 5.02 crore last year.

And now, radio on the web launched
MUMBAI:
A website to broadcast Indian music live was launched on Tuesday. musicurry.com will allow internet users to choose from an archive of Hindi songs and play them in the background as the surf. The site will also tie up with a radio station in Silicon Valley, United States, to broadcast the songs live. Other Indian language channels will be launched in the next few months, the promoters Gautam Godse and Mandar Agashe said.

IT World 8217;99 to kick off from Dec 8
MUMBAI:
This year the annual IT World/Comdex India show will feature a pavilion for small website developers called Webspot, for the first time. The show will be held in Delhi from December 8 to December 11, a press release said. Participants include Cisco, Satyam Infoway, Pentafour, MTNL and Lamp;T, with Ramalinga Raju and Sanjay Mirchandani Microsoft among the keynote speakers.
