Bitta asks for increase in security cover

Claiming an increased threat to his life, All-India Anti-Terrorist Front chief MS Bitta has written to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to increase his security cover. Former president of the Youth Congress, Bitta enjoys a Z-plus security cover. He suffered a terrorist attack at the Raisina Road Youth Congress headquarters in 1993.

Bitta said the latest threat came from supporters of Paliament House attack convict Mohammad Afzal. Bitta has been on the forefront of the campaign for an expeditious execution of Afzal following the rejection of his appeal against death sentence by the Supreme Court.
